University of San Francisco Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Mary Wardell-Ghirarduzzi has been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as one of their 2017 Most Influential Women in Business. As the SF Business Times citation for Dr. Wardell-Ghirarduzzi reads, "This annual recognition of our region's most accomplished women in business shines a spotlight on inspiring women who set the gold standard for leadership, and who have significant impact on their industries, the community and other aspiring leaders."

One of the few higher education leaders honored, this award recognizes Dr. Wardell-Ghirarduzzi's influence and reach both at USF and beyond. In addition to her service on campus, Dr. Wardell-Ghirarduzzi also serves as President of the San Francisco Library Commission, a trustee for Saint Ignatius College Preparatory, a board member for the San Francisco Interfaith Council, and a member of the executive board for the Urban Libraries Council.

This year's outstanding group of Influential Women was featured in the San Francisco Business Times special edition on April 28th, and will be honored at a Gala Awards Dinner on June 14, 2017 at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco.
