John Patrick Cunningham '45
Posted 01/21/2018 06:59AM

July 2, 1927 - Jan 13, 2018

With his wife of 64-years, and his family by his side, Jack Cunningham passed peacefully on January 13th, 2018.

Born in San Francisco to Irish immigrant parents, Jack attended St. Ignatius High and The University of San Francisco. He did tours of duty with the US Navy during WWII, and The Korean War.

He retired in 1982 after a wonderful career in Telecommunications managing large accounts for Pacific Bell and AT&T.

He was blessed in retirement to spend time traveling, hiking, salmon fishing, and playing golf. He enjoyed telling people he had been retired longer than he worked. Spending time at their home in Lake Tahoe with family and friends was a particular joy for him.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife Helen, son John (Maria), daughter Mimi--along with his grandchildren Jacqueline, Johnny, Danny, Lauran, and Philip. Michael Cunningham, his eldest son, preceded him in death in 2014.

A funeral mass for family and friends will begin at 11:00am, January 25, 2018, at Star of the Valley Church, 545 White Oak Dr., Oakmont. Reception to follow.
