June 28, 1928 - August 23, 2017 Frank Duke LaMont passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 23, 2017 at age 89 in San Mateo, CA. The son of Frank LaMont and Ruth Heffernan born June 28, 1928 in San Francisco. His wife Beverly preceded him on December 23, 2008. Survived by three sons and one daughter: Mark LaMont, Jeffrey (Brenda) LaMont, Douglas (Dana) LaMont and Denise (Mike) LaMont; seven grandchildren. Sean, Laura, Erik, Maureen, Kate, Jaimie and Jason. He graduated from Saint Ignatius High School in San Francisco and the University of San Francisco. Served in the United States Air Force as a first lieutenant. Frank settled in Millbrae, CA with his wife Beverly in 1956 where they lived until 1999 when they moved in Capitola, CA. Frank was a successful real estate broker and investor running LaMont Realty in the Westlake Shopping Center in Daly City and in San Francisco for many decades. Duke, as most of us close friends called him and Beverly made a great team. They were very involved with Saint Dunstan's Catholic Parish in Millbrae. Duke was president of the Saint Dunstan school board and instrumental in saving the school from closing in 1972. Bev taught second grade at the school for close to 30 years. A memorial Mass and celebration of Duke's life will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Saint Dunstan Catholic Church, 1133 Broadway, in Millbrae, CA. A reception will follow the service. We will miss his awesome sense of humor, his interesting conversations and commentary on life and his accepting ways with everyone. He was one of a kind.
