Tips for Students

Here are some tips for Sophomores:

Stay Focused on Academics!

If you are struggling connect with your teacher, counselor, take advantage of the Resource rooms, the Learning Center or find a CSF tutor through Ms. Quattrin.  Every grade level is important, but in 10th grade you are beginning to calculate your UC/CSU GPA and Cal Grant GPA.  Stay on track and get support!

Don't Limit Yourself and Friends

Don’t limit yourself to one group of friends; remain open to meeting new people.

Sleep 101

Make getting enough sleep at night a habit.

Balance is essential for EVERYONE

Maintain balance in your life as best you can.

Not having fun?

If current activities aren’t a fun as they used to be, try new ones, something you never thought of before.

Should I join a lot of clubs?

Remember: it’s the quality of student commitments, not the quantity that is most important.

Begin your Community Service requirement

This is essential if you think you might be interested in applying for the SI Immersion Program in junior year!

Should I take a Subject exam?

Students who are in Level 3 Language, Chemistry Honors and World History, talk to your teacher on whether taking the SAT Subject Test is a good option for you.

Talk to your counselor!
