They support the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis and cura communis, caring for the individual and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with all members of the community. They also support Jesuit commitment to a faith that does justice.
They meet the needs of students of differing backgrounds and abilities and encouraging students to be risk-takers who learn from their mistakes. They also model and encourage an enthusiastic desire for lifelong learning.
They are also well prepared and engage in ongoing professional development. Nearly 100 hold masters degrees, and another five have earned their doctoral degrees.

Mr. Chris Delaney
Mr. Delaney begins eighth year at SI and his first year as a counselor. He was born and raised here in San Francisco and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a minor in Recreation. He received his Masters in Counseling Psychology and Pupil Personnel Services Credential at the University of San Francisco. Prior to counseling at Saint Ignatius, Mr. Delaney has worked as the Magis Academic Coordinator and was a part of our Technology Staff support team here at Saint Ignatius. Mr. Delaney is an assistant varsity baseball coach and moderates our Black Student Union named the Association of African American Students.
