Our Faculty

They support the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis and cura communis, caring for the individual and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with all members of the community. They also support Jesuit commitment to a faith that does justice.

They meet the needs of students of differing backgrounds and abilities and encouraging students to be risk-takers who learn from their mistakes. They also model and encourage an enthusiastic desire for lifelong learning.

They are also well prepared and engage in ongoing professional development. Nearly 100 hold masters degrees, and another five have earned their doctoral degrees.

A Bay Area native, Ms. Curcio attended Bishop O'Dowd High School where she studied French for four years! French was fun - and is still useful - but Ms. Curcio fell in love with Latin at UC Davis. At SI she has taught all levels of Latin. Currently she serves as co-moderator of the Junior Classical League and Inside SI, but she also spent ten years as the moderator of Asian Students Coalition.
