Our Faculty

They support the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis and cura communis, caring for the individual and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with all members of the community. They also support Jesuit commitment to a faith that does justice.

They meet the needs of students of differing backgrounds and abilities and encouraging students to be risk-takers who learn from their mistakes. They also model and encourage an enthusiastic desire for lifelong learning.

They are also well prepared and engage in ongoing professional development. Nearly 100 hold masters degrees, and another five have earned their doctoral degrees.

Mr. Matthew "Matt" F. Stecher

Title(s) Science Teacher, Baseball Coach

I graduated from SI in 1993 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1997, where I received a BS in Biology. After college, I worked with the Alliance for Catholic Education for 2 years, where I earned an MA in teaching.

I am currently in my sixteenth year at SI. I teach chemistry and physics. I have coached football and baseball at SI; I presently coach varsity baseball.
