The Performing Arts Assembly
Ella Chatfield-Stiehler '15
This year’s Performing Arts Assembly featured many great performances from St. Ignatius’ diverse fine arts departments. Dance Workshop performed several selections from their 20th anniversary dance concert. The cast of West Side Story previewed this spring’s musical with the opening dance number and a memorable duet between Max Realyvasquez ’14 and Madison Sidwell ’15. Jazz Band performed a rousing rendition of Stevie Wonders "I Wish" with Stephanie Woodford '15 as the soloist. The Orchestra performed “Palladio” and “Foundry,” with Charles Kieser '14 as the soloist on the piano for “Rhapsody in Blue.” Mixed Chorus and Chamber Choir also performed, singing “We are Lights” and “Dancing Day,” respectively, among other songs. The show ended with the com- bination of dancing with Rent’s “Will I” and “Adagio for Strings,” both to great emotional effect. After Declan McInerney ‘14’s hilarious Mr. Ruff routine, another Performing Arts Assembly came to a close.
