Argument Essay--Catcher in the Rye
Resources that will help you complete your research:
Student Resources in Context: This is a great database full of all sorts of resources, including videos, reference articles, and primary and secondary sources. I've already done a few preliminary searches to make sure there was plenty of Catcher in the Rye materials, and I'm certain you'll find more than enough to use. Remember, click on the Citation Tools link on each resource page to find a correctly MLA formatted Works Cited entry, ready for you to use.
Proquest's SIRS: This database focuses on controversial issues. Once again, I gave this database a look to see if there were good materials for you to use, and there's plenty, especially related to the book's censorship. If you are on a resource click on Citation, and the page will display an MLA formatted Works Cited entry you can copy and paste into your Works Cited.
Resources that will help you format your paper:
How to create parenthetical citations: This is a lesson on citing information correctly within your essay.
How to create a Works Cited: This is a resource to help you put together the final page of your research paper, your Works Cited. Many of your Works Cited entries will copied directly from the databases. (Don't forget! Since you're using multiple sources, you'll need to put Catcher in the Works Cited as well as your other outside sources.)
If you need further help with your research, please see Ms. Mannion, Ms. Murray, Ms. Withers, Mr. Saunders, or Ms. Wenger in the library. We'd love to help you accomplish an excellent paper.
