The Edward A. Reese, S.J. Chapel
Inspired by innovation and grounded in our mission, Fr. Reese led us into a new chapter of SI’s history: the New Learning Commons. From the very beginning, he envisioned a chapel at its heart—a sacred space where our community could gather in prayer, reflection, and the practice of our Catholic faith for generations to come.
Thanks to your support, the Edward A. Reese, S.J. Chapel will ensure that future Ignatians come to know the name and spirit of a Jesuit who dedicated his life to faith, education, and service. It will be a space purposefully designed for their spiritual growth and formation.
Located in the northwest corner of the New Learning Commons, the Edward A. Reese, S.J. Chapel will feature a soaring ceiling, tall windows with views of the trees and Pacific Ocean, and flexible seating to accommodate both intimate and large gatherings. Your generosity helps bring this vision to life and supports the spiritual development of future generations at SI.
Before Fr. Reese's passing this past August, we received a transformational $5 million gift to name the chapel in honor of our beloved former President. Today, we stand $3.45 million away from fully funding the chapel campaign and securing a lasting tribute to Fr. Reese's enduring legacy.
