Matching Gifts

Increase the impact of your gift. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. Gifts from employees' spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match.

Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-advised funds are a great way to support SI and they provide good tax incentives for donors. At SI, donor-advised funds can be used for Annual Fund gifts, capital campaign gifts, or Fund a Need gifts. However, they can not be used to fulfill written pledges or for the cost of attending an event.

The IRS is fairly particular on how you use the funds. We can only accept donor-advised funds exclusively intended for charitable purposes. The IRS prohibits donor-advised fund account holders from receiving more than incidental benefits associated with the gift. For example, purchasing items of any kind at auction is not allowed. If you would like to use donor-advised funds to underwrite the Fathers' Club auction, you must decline the tangible benefits that accompany it, such as tickets to the event or separately pay the full cost of attendance. (Full cost of ticket not just the tax-deductible portion).

If you are holding the certificates and they are registered in your name, please reference this link for instructions. 

Please make sure you are identified clearly as the owner and let us know how you wish the contribution to be applied (unrestricted gift, Scholarship Endowment, Annual Fund, etc). We will book the contribution on the day received based upon its average market value on the day it was received.

1. Before making the transfer:

Please notify St. Ignatius Advancement Services office at advancement@siprep.org. Since your name will not accompany the electronic transfer of shares, we need the following information in order to issue the proper receipt for your tax-deductible donation and correctly credit your gift.

A) Name and Contact Information

B) Name of the stock or security

C) Number of shares

D) Where the donation should be directed: Immediate Need, New Learning Commons, Fr. Sauer Academy, etc.

2.  Instruct your broker: to transfer your securities or stock to one of the firms that SI works with:
