Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2021
This is no time for romantic illusions and empty philosophical debates about freedom. This is a time for action.

MLK Week 2020
And the other thing is, I'm concerned about a better world. I'm concerned about justice; I'm concerned about brotherhood; I'm concerned about truth. (That’s right) And when one is concerned about that, he can never advocate violence.

The SI Community Participates in the Past MLK Marches
The SI community has participated in many of the recent MLK Marches. See photos from past years.
Let us be dissatisfied until the tragic walls that separate the outer city of wealth and comfort from the inner city of poverty and despair shall be crushed by the battering rams of the forces of justice.

How to Celebrate MLK in 2021
There is no march in SF this year, but here are some great virtual events (all free) to engage with the National Day of Service (and the days leading up to it) around the Bay Area:
- California African American Museum celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day immersed in music, culture, and community
- Piedmont’s 24th annual MLK Day Celebration: ‘Let us Be Dissatisfied: Using Our Power to Bend the Arc’ (featuring Founder of World Trust, Shakti Butler)--the events scheduled here look very good; something for parents and students
- Stanford's Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute will host a free, four-day webinar and film festival, from the evening of Jan. 15 through Jan. 18
- Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service with the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD)
- Volunteer actions from your home for Oakland MLK 40 Days of Service Jan. 15 to Feb. 28, 2021.
- MLK Day Walk of Dreams on the Richmond Greenway
- Oakland: Anti Police-Terror Project 7th Annual Day of Action to Reclaim MLK's Radical Legacy - Car Caravan Edition
Let us realize that the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.
