Life at SI

St. Ignatius believes in educating the whole person, as this is a hallmark of Jesuit education. At St. Ignatius, students develop as athletes, artists, writers and leaders and grow into loving adults who want to make our world a better place for all.

Come to SI during the school day and you will find classes buzzing with student-centered learning, from experimenting in the physics lab to acting out scenes from a play in English class.

Visit SI after the final bell, and you will find students working on the school newspaper, yearbook, and literary magazine or rehearsing for a dance concert or musical performance.

Then go out onto the field or gym to see students taking part in 15 sports on 66 teams. Nearly 1,000 of our 1,450 students play one or more sports during the course of the year.

Jesuit schools ask students to be "contemplatives in action." For us, that means helping students grow spiritually through our liturgies and retreat program. Then we ask students to volunteer in the community, go on immersion experiences in developing nations and raise money and awareness for any number of important causes.

Throughout all of this, you will find our students having fun, laughing and enjoying themselves. The work at SI may be tough, but it can still be fun!
