A Message from Ignatian Guild President

Congratulations Class of 2020 and all Volunteers - You are a SIgn of the Times,

This past weekend we celebrated the 50th Ignatian Guild Fashion Show with a spectacular event: SIgn Of The Times - Reflections and the class of 2020! This extraordinary tradition celebrated our senior class and the SI community. All proceeds from the Fashion Show are donated to the SI Scholarship Fund by the Ignatian Guild. To our generous underwriters, THANK YOU for the contributions that will allow current and future wildcats to receive the blessings of a Jesuit education.

As many of you know, it was a fabulous show and soooooooo many thank you’s are needed. First and foremost - the Fashion Show chairs: Amy Bick, Kim Cresci, Karen Powell, and Cathleen Rigatti - what a team! These generous ladies gave their heart and soul to this and the final product showed all of their hard work! They are Mothers for Others and I could not be more grateful to them for what they have done. Their dedication and commitment to SI is to be applauded. I am honored to have worked with these great ladies and privileged to have been in a position to support them.

The Class of 2020 had about 300 students participating in the show. We also had about 300 volunteers working in so many areas - THANK YOU!!!!!! Parent volunteers shared their time, talent, support, and guidance. Because of the countless volunteers, clothes were generously donated from vendors, students learned to sing, dance and strut the “catwalk”, dressing rooms were filled, senior models were led to and from the stage, students were fed at rehearsals, smiles were captured during rehearsals, tables were beautifully set and cleared, models enjoyed hair/makeup, sounds/lighting and linens were perfectly chosen, centerpieces created, keepsake programs were at each table, raffle baskets were created, guests were greeted and checked in, wine was flowing and delicious meals were enjoyed. WHEW, what an amazing group of dedicated parents and staff!! Such a heartwarming representation of what SI is all about. This show could not have happened without all of you and I am thankful for all of your hard work and efforts.

The support from SI staff and vendors make this endeavor possible and their assistance is invaluable. Tricia Brown, Ted Curry, Emily Schick, Noah Haydon, Tom Murphy, Annika Miller, Sean Lawhon, Tom Casey, Concie Tarantino, Gary Brickley, SI Father’s Club, Rick Yang, and our very own Building and Grounds. They embody what it is to be men and women with and for others. On behalf of the entire SI community, senior models, Fashion Show chairs and committees, THANK YOU!!

To our daily Beacons, Fr. Eddie Reese, S.J., Michelle Levine, Ignatian Guild Spiritual Advisor Megan Pryor-Lorenz, your continued support and guidance is felt by all.

This event is the definition of collaboration and commitment. We work together for the greater good. We succeed as a whole and celebrate as a family. We revel in the joy of our children.

I am so grateful and humbled by all of you and your amazing enthusiasm and willingness to help. You are SI!!

So Seniors, now that your Fashion Show is behind you....remember where you have been, relish and enjoy where you are and dream big for the future of where you’re going! Life is about your experiences so embrace them!!

Congratulations Class of 2020 and thank you all,

Kathy Conte
