Sending Test Scores

All test (ACT, SAT, Subject tests, AP exams) scores must be sent directly to colleges from the College Board or ACT.  You, the student, or St. Ignatius cannot send an official set of scores – it must come directly from the testing service.

SATs

Students who choose to send SAT scores should go to the College Board website and enter the appropriate college codes for the colleges on their list. Before sending scores to colleges, students should consider the timing carefully.

Upon registration students can list up to four colleges (at no additional cost) to send their scores.  It is recommended that students take advantage of this since it is part of the registration fee and can help to prevent additional fees.  Feel free to send your initial scores to your "Likely" campuses.  In addition, we recommend that students make sure their highest SAT/Subject test score(s) are sent to all their colleges.  The latest SAT/Subject test score sent to a college will receive all previous SAT and Subject exams taken prior. ACT does not do this.

Note: 

To send to CSU campuses use code 3594 which will send your scores to all CSU campuses.  Do not send UCs your test scores until your senior year - they will not be stored.  If you send one test to the UC campus it will be sent to all the UC campuses that you to.   

ACTs

After you have completed testing, choose your highest score and request that report to be sent to the colleges.

Students can send their scores online at ACT's website. 

Note:

Do not send UC's your test scores until your senior year - they will not be scored.  If you send one test to the UC campus it will be sent to all the UC campuses that you apply to.  Students who wish to send their ACT test scores to multiple CSU campuses will need to use ACT Score Manager to give CSU campus permission to send their ACT test scores to multiple campuses.  

Score Choice:

Selecting Score Choice is not an option that is recommended by the SI Counseling Department (nor any of the members of BAISSC, an organization of college counselors in the Bay Area.) Students opting for the score choice option should give careful consideration to the requirements of each college.

In most instances Score Choice is ultimately not in the best interest of the student and may create unnecessary delays in submitting SAT scores, cost more money or prevent the student’s application from being ‘complete’ – if the college requirements are not met. Many private colleges have made it clear that they continue to expect a cumulative report of test scores because they could possibly take the higher section of each test taken.
