Accommodations & Support

Who does the CATS Center support?

CATS provides services to all students who have submitted appropriate documentation indicating a learning disability or ADHD to the Director of the CATS center.  The ideal time to provide documentation is prior to entrance at SI.  However, currently enrolled students may start receiving an accommodations plan at the time of diagnosis. This also includes students who may have an injury or concussion.
The CATS center also supports all Wildcats who need academic support in time management, studying techniques, peer tutoring, organizational skills and self-advocacy.

Joining the Caseload

Students and parents who would like more information about completing academic testing to rule in/out a learning difference or ADHD, may contact us for referrals and recommendations.
Families setting up accommodations may contact the Director of CATS to establish a timeline and academic support plan for your individual student's needs.  Families should be prepared to provide supporting documentation to substantiate this request. Acceptable forms of documentation include, but are not limited to:
  • Psychoeducational Evaluation
  • Neuropsychological Evaluation
  • Psychiatric Evaluation
  • Medical Documentation

Timeline to Accommodations:

Following the receipt of documentation, with input from the student and family, the CATS Director will compose and implement a Learning Profile for the student.  This accommodation plan will be approved in a meeting with the student and family prior to being distributed to the student's current teachers.
