Retreats

Graduation

SI's retreat programs provide students with sacred time and space to encounter themselves, their classmates, and God in a context of love.

Frosh Retreat

Frosh Retreat is a day-long experience that consists of retreat activities at St. Monica School, community engagement with the Richmond Neighborhood Center or Project Open Hand, and an evening event with parents/guardians. The retreat introduces our Ignatian mission of becoming a person “with and for others.” Students are excused from any classes and practices to participate in the retreat, which is required for graduation.

Recognizing our partnership with parents/guardians in the education and formation of students, our hope is that at least one parent/guardian (or an adult who is a family member or close friend) will be with us for the closing dinner, presentation and prayer service on SI’s campus.

Students are assigned a retreat date based on their Religious Studies class. Each retreat group has approximately 25 students. In August, you will receive your retreat date and additional details.

Please contact Luke Hansen with any questions at lhansen@siprep.org.

Sophomore Retreat

Sophomore Retreat is a two-day, overnight retreat. Sophomores will leave from SI on a bus and spend two days at San Damiano Retreat Center. Soph Retreat will focus on building community with your peers and finding time to pause and reflect. This is a mandatory retreat for SI students and a graduation requirement.

There will be 10 different sophomore retreats throughout the year and sophomores will be assigned a retreat date based on availability. All sophomores must sign up for the retreat by September 1 on Canvas.

Kairos Retreat

A highlight of the SI experience for many students, Kairos retreats are offered to the entire senior class. There is also an opportunity for rising seniors to attend a Kairos retreat the summer before their final year at SI.

Over three days, participants are led by adults and fellow students who have attended a previous Kairos retreat to open themselves to God's love and the love of their family and friends.
