Technical Theater

A lavish and ornate stage setting with a diverse array of elaborately costumed performers, including a central figure in a dramatic black gown, surrounded by a vibrant and fantastical ensemble.

All things “behind the scenes” for SI Performing Arts

Technical Theater at SI offers students the opportunity to be involved in set construction, lighting design, stage management, sound operation, as well as participating backstage in all performing arts productions throughout the year. Students meet two to three times a week and get hands-on experience fulfilling the technical needs of the current production.

Stage crew is responsible for the scenery, lighting and sound for all fine arts productions. Students may be involved with building or painting sets, hanging and focusing lights, stage managing productions, and/or being a part of the run crews for specific productions. Please email Technical Theater Director David Lam (dlam@siprep.org)  if you would like to participate in stage crew.
