Callaghan Society Essay Contest
The Admiral Callaghan Society is pleased to announce that its annual essay contest for SI students will begin next month. The writing prompt can be found here — essays must be submitted by April 11, 2022.
The award for the top essay is $3000. There are also monetary prizes for the top sophomore and the top freshman essays.
Admiral Daniel J Callaghan, a St. Ignatius graduate and devout Catholic, gave his life for his country and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroics at the Battle of Guadalcanal on Nov. 13, 1942.
