The eighth grade student will be paired with an SI student who is familiar with the campus, activities, and classes. The visiting student will tour the school and visit a handful of classes with the SI student. During this time, the eighth grade student should feel comfortable to ask questions in an informal setting. We want the visiting student to have an informative and enjoyable personalized Wildcat Experience with an SI student during their time on campus. Parents feel free to check out our Parent Experience. 

The Wildcat Experience will be two hours (9:30am - 11:30am) and reservations are required. Doors open at 9:15am and will close promptly at 9:30am. Reservations will be available beginning on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 12pm. You do not need an account through MySI or Eventbrite in order to sign up for a Wildcat Experience visit day. Please only make one Wildcat Experience reservation per student. If you've made more than one reservation, please contact us immediately at admissions@siprep.org or cancel your additional reservation directly through Eventbrite. We want to ensure that every student who wants to visit SI has the opportunity to do so. Please note - we do not have a waitlist for Wildcat Experience reservations. What to Know Before The Wildcat Experience (8th Grader Shadow Day):

Doors open at 9:15am and will close promptly at 9:30am.

Drop off and Pick up: via the southbound drive through lane located in front of Cowell & McCullough Gyms on 37th Avenue beginning at Quintara Street going towards Rivera Street. Cars dropping off 8th grade visitors for their Wildcat Experience will be able to enter the drop off area beginning at 9:10am. Please do not enter the area earlier than 9:10am to allow school drop off to conclude without any additional traffic/congestion. 

Parking: Parking close to campus will be difficult.  We are in a residential area and due to our construction project, you will need to allow more time than usual for parking. We suggest parking a few blocks away (Ortega/Noriega and 36th Avenue) and walking to campus if you are able to. For parents/guardians that are staying for the Parent Experience, you may drop your student off first before looking for parking. Parents can be a few minutes late to the programming. Rideshare is encouraged, if possible. 

Check In: Visiting eighth grade students will enter through the Bannan Theater doors near the drop off location to sign in.

Attire: Students are welcome to wear their school uniform or follow the SI dress code.

Students will conclude their Wildcat Experience at 11:30am. Pick up is located in the same location as Drop off.
