The Parent Experience
(for 8th grade parents)
We encourage parents of eighth grade students, especially those who haven't visited our campus to join us for the Parent Experience! This tour is focused towards parents who have never experienced SI and haven't visited our campus before. You will hear from SI administrators and faculty/staff explaining the difference an SI education can make, meet the Admissions staff and current SI parents and get some tips about the Admissions process! You will also receive a tour of campus.
Parents have found that this type of SI event is very helpful and informative. Parents appreciate hearing from the SI community, and ultimately discerning if SI would be a good high school experience for their child for the next four years.
The Parent Experience will occur at the same time and date that your 8th grader is scheduled for their Wildcat Experience. Parents/Guardians and 8th graders will all begin their programs in Cowell Gymnasium at 9:15am (doors will open at 9:05am for check in). 8th graders will hear a few introductions and then proceed to their Wildcat Experience with their SI student ambassador. The program for both parents/guardians and 8th graders will end in Cowell Gymnasium at 11:30am.
The Parent Experience is an optional event. Reservations are not required, we just ask that you limit the number of attendees to two adults per 8th grader. Please do not bring extra children or pets (unless they are service animals). There is a lot of walking involved for the Parent Experience. The tour will be at a quick pace in order to view as much of our expansive campus as possible. Please take that into account if you have an injury. If you require wheelchair access, please note that the tour may be difficult during construction. Please reach out to the Admissions Office so we can offer appropriate accommodations. Please be on time and allow time for parking. We are in a residential area, so you may need more time than usual.
We look forward to introducing you to our amazing community!
