St. Ignatius

Before I came to Father Sauer Academy, I was an excellent student. I had really strong grades. I used to think about whether I liked sports or school more. See, in my school, I really loved doing class activities, whether it was a writing  competition or math game. I would always love to challenge myself in school. But at the same time, I loved the sports that were there. We played dodgeball, football, basketball, and kickball. Playing on the teams, especially football, brought me a great deal of joy. Both school and sports were entertaining to me and kept me content. My family loves athletics, so I grew up around sports, especially football, which was my main sport. Before I came to Father Sauer Academy, I never even knew that this school was a thing. It was a brand new school where I only heard of it by 5th grade, where my vice principal saw potential in me. She encouraged me to apply because she knew SI’s great reputation for both school and sports– exactly what I was looking for in a school.

My biggest passions are playing sports and instruments. I also love playing video games. All of these have made my life more enjoyable, especially during quarantine. I didn’t have anything to do during the time besides playing video games, and I’d say it was a welcome escape during a stressful time in my life. Playing these games allowed me to have fun with family and friends, and build new bonds. After quarantine, it was hard to play sports because we had just spent so much time trapped indoors. It was also the perfect time to spend a lot of time with my family. We had no one else but our family, and we bonded. My connections with the people in the house improved drastically; we spent day and night together, enjoying each other’s company. Of course, I sometimes got bored, but it was a fun time.
