St. Ignatius

Welcome from SI President Edward A. Reese, S.J.

Fr. Eddie ReeseOn behalf of the entire SI community, I welcome you to our website! No matter how you have come upon our site, I am happy that you found us.

Since 1855, we have been offering the young people of the Bay Area an education based on the philosophy of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. The Jesuit philosophy of education is centered on the reality that God is present in all things – from the beauty of nature to the intricacy of an algebraic formula! A large part of what we do each day is to help our students learn to understand how God is alive in their daily lives. The men and women – both Jesuit and lay – who serve our students and their families are exceptional educators. Our community is blessed with a rich tradition steeped in the care of each individual. Our ultimate desire is to help form young women and young men into the people that God is calling them to be – people for and with others.

I hope you enjoy your visit to our website. There is much information about our school on these pages. Please take your time to check out our outstanding academic programs as well as the myriad number of co-curricular programs we offer. Additionally, I would also encourage you to look at the many ways we help our students put their faith and their love into action each day through the way we serve others.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you might have. I hope that you will make it a point to schedule a time to visit our campus so that you can see how Jesuit secondary education is alive and well at SI. In the meantime, please know that you and your loved ones are in our prayers.
