Welcome to SI!

Parents of incoming freshmen — welcome to the SI Family! We are pleased you and your sons and daughters selected SI as their home for the next four years, a time that will prove the most important in their development as men and women of conscience, competence and compassion. We look forward to partnering with you on this wonderful journey. As a beginning, we have created this website just for you. Check out the important dates leading up to the start of school, and please send us your questions and concerns and let us know how we can make this page even better.

1 p.m.: Online registration packet available for incoming freshmen.

4/14/18
Math/Language Placement Exam: All incoming freshmen will take a math placement exam on Saturday, April 14 at SI promptly at 9:00 a.m. Students should gather in the Orradre Courtyard (inside the gate in front of SI). Doors to the building will open at 8:45 a.m. Lists will be posted with student room assignments. Students must bring a calculator and two #2 pencils. Students who have signed up for the language placement exam (those who wish to be considered in a class higher than level 1) will begin that test at 10:15 a.m. Each exam is one hour.

8/14/18: SI Ticket to Play Form due. Mail to Mr. Jason Dinius, 2001 37th Avenue, SF 94116 or scan & email to jdinius@siprep.org.

8/4/18: Student schedule, PowerSchool access info, book purchasing details will be mailed to families. Schedule changes for freshmen and transfer students must be approved by the student's counselor before being submitted to the Director of Scheduling. All requests must be submitted via an official Schedule Change Form, available from the counselors. Schedule changes are not handled by telephone or email. Counselors will be available on campus for this purpose beginning Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, from 9 a.m. to noon.

8/9/18: Some frosh fall sports tryouts begin. Some athletic program tryouts might begin later than 8/9 but this date is the allowable start date by section rules. Sign up for fall sports here and read the FAQ page

8/14/2018: Frosh football starts.

8/15/18: Arrupe Student Book Pick-Up is August 20: Incoming freshmen who are part of the Arrupe Program are invited to pick up their books on Aug. 20 between 11 and 3 p.m. in the SI Library.

8/16: Freshman Family Welcome Party for San Francisco Families

8/17: Freshman Family Welcome Party for Marin Families

8/18: Freshman Family Welcome Party for Peninsula Families

8/19/18: Parent/Freshman orientation (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. Doors will not open before then. Mass starts at 9 a.m. Students should be in school dress code. At 10:00 a.m., students will separate from their parents and head off with their InSIgnis Senior leaders to begin their day of orientation and fun. Parents then go through a series of five presentations — Academics, Campus Ministry, Co-Curricular, Counseling and Development — where they meet the school's leaders and get a better sense of these five areas of the school. A hot lunch will be provided only for students. At about 1:00 p.m., parents and students will join back together in the Carlin Commons. The day continues at 1:15 p.m. for those parents interested in connecting with the African American and Latino Parents Association (AALPA), which hosts a brief family welcome in the Choral Room. Also at this time, the SI Parents Asian Club (SIPAC) will host a get together in Orradre Chapel. Light refreshments will be offered at both events.  

8/20/18: Counselors & Department Chairs available on campus for scheduling concerns beginning at 9 a.m.

8/22/18Summer reading should be completed.

8/22/18: Frosh Student Orientation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a freshman parent coffee in the Commons courtyard at 9 a.m. (Deli sandwiches and a hot lunch will be available for sale.) Students are expected to be in SI dress code. All frosh will have photos taken for IDs on Wednesday, receive lockers, and receive Freedom Pay stickers. Frosh may bring a brown-bag lunch on Wednesday or purchase a hot lunch for $5. Go to the Lifetouch website and order your photos before the Wednesday photo shoot for freshmen and the Thursday photo shoot for sophomores, juniors and seniors.

8/24/18: First Day of School (8:20 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.)
