UC/CSU GPA Requirements
The California State University (CSU) system uses three factors for admission for all 23 campuses:
- Specific high school courses (referred to as the "a-g" courses)
- Grades in "a-g" courses and test scores
- Graduation from high school
Your high school GPA is calculated using "a-g" courses after the 9th grade. CSU campuses use an eligibility index that combines your GPA with your SAT (critical reading & math) or ACT composite score to confirm eligibility. Click on the eligibility index to see if you meet the CSU local requirement. You can also click on Calculate Your Eligibility Index to compare your index score with other CSU campuses' average index scores.
Note: MANY CSU CAMPUSES HAVE HIGHER STANDARDS FOR ADMISSIONS IF THE CAMPUS IS OUT OF YOUR LOCAL AREA OR FOR PARTICULAR MAJORS.
