St. Ignatius

Back to School Night

Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022

On Thursday, Sept. 8, St. Ignatius will hold its annual Back to School Night. We are very grateful for the opportunity to hold our first in person Back to School Night since 2019! The evening is designed to give you a shortened "day in the life" of your student. The faculty and administration hope that this night will be both informative and enjoyable for you. Another great aspect of Back to School Night is meeting the parents of your children's friends. You will be given name tags to fill out and wear during your first period class. The first bell will ring at 6:55 p.m. and 7th period ends at 8:45 p.m. Parents of students who have an 8th period class can meet those teachers from 8:50 to 9 p.m.

Click here for the schedule for the evening along with some special room assignments. Please ask your student to fill in the specific information regarding their courses, teachers, and room numbers and bring it with you when you come on Thursday evening. Please use the resource period to visit other areas on campus.

Most classrooms are very easy to locate; others are a bit more of a challenge, including those located in the West Campus across Columbus Piazza. Service Club members will be available to assist you in locating the classrooms, gyms and theaters. You will be able to meet with members of the Center for Academic and Targeted Support (CATS), the Library, the Office of Belonging, Equity & Excellence (BEE), Campus Ministry, and Community Service. Counselors will be available in the 2nd floor Counseling Center to say hello; for longer conversations, please call the Counseling Center to schedule an appointment. Enjoy refreshments during the lunch period in Carlin Commons, and stop by the Adult Spirituality Team table in the Commons to find out about programs for parents. In addition, Prep shop items will also be available for purchase in the Student Center.

SI is in a residential neighborhood, so we expect nearby parking to be extremely limited. Please consider taking public transportation, ridesharing, or walking to campus if you are able.

We look forward to seeing you on the 8th!
