St. Ignatius Athletic Department Year Round Training Policy

In the spirit of the Jesuit ideal of Cura Personalis, care for the whole person, and in an on-going effort to be competitive in the WCAL and CCS, the St. Ignatius Athletic Department is instituting new guidelines for coaches and athletes regarding year round training for sports.  Beginning this year, all St. Ignatius Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will train on a year-round basis.  Out of season athletes will be expected to make 3- 45 minute workout sessions per week and in- season teams will perform 2- 30 minute sessions per week.

The out of season freshman athletes will continue in the Wildcat Readiness Program which will be placed in the resource period and possibly in a later afternoon workout slot. In-season frosh level athletes will be expected to train 1 day/week to solidify their understanding of the fundamentals of our program curriculum.

The off-season workout times will coincide with the CCS 4:1 workout dates in order to help with scheduling and be less confusing for all involved.  These dates are: Sept 10, Mar 4 and April 1.

*Programs that have existing programs that fall outside of the 4:1 rule will be allowed to continue in their existing model.
