Academic Summer Programs 2009

  • For students entering 9th grade in fall 2009: High school prep program (not limited to SI students)
  • For students entering 7th or 8th grade in fall 2009: Select from a variety of course offerings
  • Dates: June 15 - July 17. July 3 is a holiday.
  • Time: 9 a.m. - noon.
  • Cost: $730
  • Optional course: Computer Applications1 8 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. Additional cost of $190

Sports Camps of All Types 2009 You can sign up for sports camps even up to the first day of camp!

  • Ages and times vary. May be combined with academic programs.
  • Dates: June 8 - July 24. July 3 is a holiday.
  • Time: Morning camps: 9 a.m. - noon; Afternoon camps: 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Cost varies by camp. Includes a camp T-shirt.
  • Morning Camp for ages 6-12, Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Speed & Agility, Tennis, Track & Field, Training for the High School Athlete, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weight Lifting, and Wildcat Boot Camp.

Musical Theatre Camps 2009

  • For grades 3 - 9 as of fall 2009.
  • Students will enjoy two weeks of fundamental training in singing, dancing and acting.
  • Each session will be capped by a live performance on the last Friday evening from 6-8:30 p.m for family and friends.
  • May be combined with academic programs.
  • Dates: Session I: June 15 - June 26 (two weeks) Session II: July 6 - July 17 (two weeks)
  • Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Cost: $420 per two-week session. Includes a camp T-shirt.

New! Music Camp 2009: Wind Ensemble

  • For students entering 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grades in fall 2009 who play flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, tuba or percussion.
  • Students will be assigned to participate in a chamber music ensemble in addition to the larger wind ensemble.
  • The session will be capped by a live performance on Friday evening for family and friends.
  • May be combined with academic programs.
  • Students should have at least one year experience via private or school lessons to participate. Beginners welcomed!
  • Maximum enrollment: 18 students
  • Dates: June 22 - June 26 (one week only)
  • Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Cost: $240 for the week. Includes a camp T-shirt.

New! Music Camp 2009: String Seminar

  • For students entering 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grades in fall 2009 who play violin, viola, cello or bass.
  • Students will be assigned to participate in a small chamber music ensemble in addition to the string orchestra.
  • The session will be capped by a culminating concert on Thursday evening for family and friends.
  • May be combined with academic programs.
  • Students should have at least two years experience via private or school lessons to participate. Beginners welcomed!
  • Maximum enrollment: 18 students
  • Dates: June 29 - July 2 (one 4-day camp only)
  • Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Cost: $192 for the 4-day camp. Includes a camp T-shirt.

Art Camp 2009

  • For campers entering 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades as of fall 2009
  • Design and Nature ~ Art and Sculpture: All aspiring artists are welcome!
    This camp will explore design as observed in Nature and use these forms as our inspiration to create original individual and collaborative works of art. Utilizing a variety of materials ranging from paint, oil pastels, markers, paper, found objects, wood, metal and more, we will design and create large-scale 2D works as well as 3D sculptural pieces. No previous experience in design, drawing or sculpture is necessary...come with an open mind and a willingness to explore!
  • May be combined with academic programs.
  • Dates: June 15 - 19 (one week camp only)
  • Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Cost: $240 (includes materials fee). Includes a camp T-shirt.

Summer Cat Camp for Incoming St. Ignatius Freshmen: Class of 2013

  • Meet your new classmates, participate in two sports and one art class daily, and explore the SI campus!
  • Dates: July 20 - July 24 One week only!
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $440 for the week
  • Cost includes a sweatshirt, daily lunch and social event on Friday afternoon.
  • Enrollment limited to the first 50 boys and 50 girls to register.

High School Courses 2009

  • These courses are not remedial courses. These courses are for currently enrolled SI students. The spaces available will be opened to non-SI students on April 9, 2009.
  • Dates: June 8 - July 17. July 3 is a holiday.
  • Dates for Petition to Junior Precalculus: June 15 - July 17. July 3 is a holiday.
  • Times: Times vary by course.
  • Courses to be offered in 2009: Biology, Chemistry, Drivers' Education, English 460 - Fiction into Film, Petition to Junior Precalculus - Formerly known as Advanced Algebra (no credit course for current SI sophomores only), Physics, and World History 2 .
  • Cost: Cost varies by course.
  • Registration site opens on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 6 a.m.
  • You will need a Visa or Mastercard to register.
  • New this year! You will need the student's ID number and PIN number in order to register this year. (This is the same login info that you use to access your student's grades) Parents - To have the ID and PIN emailed to you at the email address we have in our contact information for you, go to www.siprep.org/directory/retrieve. Due to the security-sensitive nature of PINs, we will not release them by phone or to an email address that is not in our contact information for you.

Magis 2009

  • For students entering 7th grade (limited spaces available for students entering 8th grade)
  • Dates: June 15 - July 17. July 3 is a holiday.
  • Time: 8:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Cost: Sliding scale based on family income.
  • Year-round academic enrichment program to prepare low income and first generation college bound students for a college prep high school.

    * FREE of CHARGE: Supervised area for early drop off from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.
    * FREE of CHARGE: Supervised lunch area from noon to 1 p.m. in our school cafeteria.
    Students may bring a bag lunch or purchase it.
