The Student Arts Showcase is an evening of performance that is generated by and for SI students. Students are involved in every aspect of the show: as playwrights, directors, composers, stage managers, musicians, actors and dancers. SAS is a great way for SI students to share their various talents and explore artistic expression in ways they never have before.

Adults are involved as allies with our talented students, supporting their creative performances and providing mentorship throughout the artistic process.

For Actors, Musicians and Dancers

• Wednesday, January 7 : Actor Auditions for Scenes and Monologues
• Thursday, January 8 : Dancer Auditions and Actor Callbacks
• Friday, January 9: Callbacks, if necessary
• Monday, January 12 : Cast Announced, Company Meeting from 2:45-3:15pm

For Directors (Scene, Music, Vocal) and Choreographers

• Friday, October 10 -Tuesday, October 28: Director and Choreographer applications available (click here)
• Tuesday, November 4: Director and Choreographers notified

Students are expected to attend weekly scene rehearsals. Other rehearsal times will be determined by each student director and choreographer. However, it will be expected that all scenes and dances will rehearse regularly using Weigand Theatre.

• Scene Rehearsal Space: Tuesdays: January 13, January 20, January 27, February 3--between 3-5pm in Weigand
• Dance Rehearsal Space: To be determined with Mr. Curry, Dance Moderator

Directors/Choreographer workshops

• Workshop A -- Friday, November 7: 1:45-3:00
• Workshop B --Tuesday, November 25: 2:30-4:00
• Director/Choreographer Production Meetings: Tuesday, December 9 at 5th Period and Thursday, December 11 at 5th Period

Key Dates

• January 28: Show run-through with final cuts of scenes or dances that are not performance ready
• Feburary 9: Technical Rehearsal (6-9pm)
• February 10: Dress Rehearsal (6-9pm)
• February 11-13: Student Artist Showcase (Call time 6:30pm)
• February 13th: Strike after final show
• Feburary 25: Company Meeting and Thanks after school
