Ignatian Spirituality

(From IgnatianSpirituality.com)

Ignatian spirituality is a spirituality for everyday life. It insists that God is present in our world and active in our lives. It is a pathway to deeper prayer, good decisions guided by keen discernment, and an active life of service to others.

Ignatius of Loyola, a Basque nobleman who lived between 1491 and 1556, was a soldier fighting the French when a cannonball shattered his leg. While recuperating, he had a profound conversion experience that led to a remarkable journey that took him to Paris, where he and fellow students at the University of Paris formed the Society of Jesus.
