They support the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis and cura communis, caring for the individual and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with all members of the community. They also support Jesuit commitment to a faith that does justice.
They meet the needs of students of differing backgrounds and abilities and encouraging students to be risk-takers who learn from their mistakes. They also model and encourage an enthusiastic desire for lifelong learning.
They are also well prepared and engage in ongoing professional development. Nearly 100 hold masters degrees, and another five have earned their doctoral degrees.

Mr. Nicholas Alvarado
MA, Counseling Psychology, University of San Francisco 2014
Mr. Alvarado began his career at St. Ignatius as a student graduating in 2006. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Seattle University. Mr. Alvarado returned to SI to coach Cross Country and Track. In 2014, he earned his MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling and his PPS Credential from the University of San Francisco. He has worked as an Academic Proctor at SI, and will continue to coach Cross Country and Track. Mr. Alvarado is excited to join the counseling team.
