They support the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis and cura communis, caring for the individual and maintaining positive, respectful relationships with all members of the community. They also support Jesuit commitment to a faith that does justice.
They meet the needs of students of differing backgrounds and abilities and encouraging students to be risk-takers who learn from their mistakes. They also model and encourage an enthusiastic desire for lifelong learning.
They are also well prepared and engage in ongoing professional development. Nearly 100 hold masters degrees, and another five have earned their doctoral degrees.

Ms. Donna Murphy
Mrs. Murphy has served at SI since 1988 in many roles. Her primary roles have been Counselor, Counseling Department Chair and Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, teacher, moderator and coach. Currently Mrs. Murphy is a Personal/Academic Counselor, AP Coordinator, co-moderator of the Cancer Awareness and Support Club and moderator of Drum Corp.
Mrs. Murphy graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga in 1983 with a BA in Liberal Arts. She earned a Multi-Subject Teaching credential from San Francisco State University in 1984 as well as a MA in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Counseling 1999.
