The season of Lent is a yearly opportunity for each of us, and all of us together, to focus on spiritual renewal. With those who are preparing for baptism this Easter, we ask ourselves what it would look like for us to choose to be Christian, and what would help us embrace the life and mission that Jesus offers.
For busy people, internet resources might help this renewal to be less stressful. Here are a few good sites:
Pray as You Go
Offered by the British Jesuits this site is an excellent way to pray each day. It can be downloaded to your iPod or computer. It begins with a ringing of a bell, followed by beautiful music that is different each day. They read one of the two daily readings and pose a couple of very poignant questions, and then you have five minutes with just the music, and lastly you listen to the reading again with a few more questions. It is a calm, soothing, meditative experience.
