Michael Charles Dowling 68, died January, 2, 2008, at home in Folsom. A San Francisco native, Mike graduated from Saint Brendan School and Saint Ignatius High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in 1961, and his MBA from Golden Gate University. In 1963, Mike married Sandra Meagher, who survives him. Mike is also survived by sons, Patrick and his wife Susan; Stephen and his wife Diane; daughter, Lisa and her husband Shepley Nelson; six grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews, 25 grandnieces and grandnephews, and brothers, Thomas and Terence. Mike was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. He was employed by Fireman's Fund Insurance Company from 1964 to 1987, and by Blue Shield from 1987 to 1997. Mike and Sandy first lived at Edwards Air Force Base, and then in Oakland, San Francisco, Concord, Sacramento, Chico, Petaluma (1970 to 1999), and have lived in Folsom since 1999. Mike was a member of North Ridge Country Club in Fair Oaks, with a hole in one there on December 7, 2005. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John's Catholic Church, 307 Montrose Drive, Folsom, at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 5, 2008. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Folsom.
