John Parnell Crowley September 9, 1955 - May 31, 2008 At home in the City of Saint Francis surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband of Charlene and devoted father of Christopher and James. Predeceased by parents, John F. and Geraldine Crowley and sister, Mary Frances Williams (Bill). Beloved brother of Kelly Fuller (Chuck), Joseph Crowley (Mary), Tara Chase (Steve) and F.X. Crowley (Nancy). Affectionate son-in-law of Bill and Jeanie Henneberry. Adored brother-in-law of Dennis Henneberry (Leonora), Diane McLaughlin (Michael), Leslie McNaughton (Kevin); uncle of numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. John was a loyal friend who enjoyed the constant support and friendship of many through his final day. He lived a life of adventures - he embarks on his greatest adventure. John was a 1973 graduate of St. Ignatius College Preparatory, captain of the SI Varsity football team, 1972-73, and received his bachelor of arts degree from the UC Riverside in 1977. John cut his chops in the labor movement with the Sailors Union of the Pacific. He was a counselor with the San Francisco Youth Guidance Center, an assistant power plant operator with PG&E and a member of Sprinkler Fitters Local UA 483, the last nine years serving as business representative. John had a lifelong commitment to helping all working people. He was a past member of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission Employment Committee, a director of the Cobb Mountain Mutual Water Company, a board member of the Loch Lomond Property Owners Association, a Little League coach and member of the St. Brendan Men's Club. John also was a member of the Marin, San Mateo, SF and Sonoma Building Trade Councils. Carpe Diem! Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 4, after 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Ignatius Church, 650 Parker Ave. (at Fulton), SF. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum. An educational fund has been established for John's sons.
