John E. McDevitt In Novato on Jan. 7, 2008 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of the late Noreen McDevitt (nee Sullivan) and Janyce Materer-McDevitt. Loving father of Mary (Tom McCormick) McDevitt and Lawrence (Anna) McDevitt. Devoted grandfather of Kelsey Cottrell and Kristina Damota. A native of San Francisco. A graduate of St. Ignatius High School. A veteran of the U.S. Navy. A retired firefighter for S.F.F.D. in San Francisco for 30 years. Friends may visit after 6PM, Thursday and are invited to the Vigil at 7:30PM at the Evergreen Mortuary of McAvoy O'Hara Co., Geary Blvd., at Tenth Avenue. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at St. Cecilia's Church, 17th Ave. at Vicente St. Private Committal.
