SI Math Department Course Sequencing

Freshmen will be placed into Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Accelerated, or Algebra 2 Honors based on performance on the placement test in April, HSPT Quantitative and Math scores, and grammar school GPAs.  Sequencing follows from there as listed below.

ALGEBRA 1, GEOMETRY (or GEOMETRY H), ALGEBRA 2, PRECALCULUS  or MATH ANALYSIS or

         PROBLEM SOLVING/INTRO TO TRIGONOMETRY

ALGEBRA 1, GEOMETRY (or GEOMETRY H), ADVANCED ALGEBRA, PRECALCULUS ACCELERATED, CALCULUS

         or AP CALCULUS AB

ALGEBRA 1 ACCELERATED, GEOMETRY H (or GEOMETRY), PRECALCULUS ACCELERATED, CALCULUS or

        AP CALCULUS AB

ALGEBRA 1 ACCELERATED, GEOMETRY H (or GEOMETRY), ADVANCED ALGEBRA,

        PRECALCULUS HONORS, CALCULUS or AP CALCULUS AB or AP CALCULUS BC

ALGEBRA 1 ACCELERATED, GEOMETRY (or GEOMETRY H), ALGEBRA 2, PRECALCULUS

ALGEBRA 2H, GEOMETRY H (or GEOMETRY), PRECALCULUS HONORS, CALCULUS or AP CALCULUS AB

         or AP CALCULUS BC

ALGEBRA 2H, GEOMETRY H (or GEOMETRY), PRECALCULUS ACCELERATED, CALCULUS or AP CALCULUS AB

Qualified students are invited to take AP STATISTICS as seniors.

Students who successfully complete AP CALCULUS BC by the end of their junior year are invited to enroll in MULITIVARIABLE CALCULUS.
