General information
The real measure of whether the student has taken to heart what he or she has learned over the 4 years at St. Ignatius is what kind of a person they become. Are they truly "for and with others?"
Note: AP can change your life. Through college-level AP courses, you enter a universe of knowledge that might otherwise remain unexplored in high school; through AP Exams, you have the opportunity to earn credit or advanced standing at most of the nation's colleges and universities. This statement from the College Board site is all well and good, but if the mind and heart are not functioning together, then what is the point? These courses that I teach here at the prep are designed to "comfort the disturbed and to disturb the comfortable." And to prepare the student not only for college, but for life.
The Sophomore Course!
This course will expose the student to the rich scriptural tradition of the Catholic Faith. It will include critical analysis, exegesis, personal reflection on daily living and relationships, and strategies for making choices consistent with the Gospel values of compassion, love and commitment.
Good luck this year!
