The Genesis V: New Horizons drive is the school's fifth major fundraising campaign and has four goals: to expand the campus to the west with new facilities (which SI celebrated in the fall of 2007), to build new playing fields to the south (many of which were completed by 2007), to build a new retreat center to the north and raise an additional $25 for the tuition assistance endowment fund. To date, we are 2 years into this 5-year campaign and have raised $37.5 million toward our $50 million goal.

History of Genesis Campaigns
Fr. Harry Carlin, SJ, SI’s president from 1964 to 1970, created the magazine in his first year in office and christened it Genesis.

The name changed to Genesis II in 1980 with the start of a campaign to raise the school’s endowment to $4 million.

Nine years later, the school embarked on the Genesis III: Building for the Future campaign to raise $16 million to remodel the campus, and the magazine’s name changed once again.

The Genesis IV: Endow SI campaign in 1996 sought to raise $50 million in10 years for the tuition assistance fund and for four new funds to help endow campus maintenance, the excellence in teaching program, curriculum & programs and faculty housing. In December 2005 celebrated the completion of the Genesis IV campaign a year earlier having raised $9 million above its goal.
