St. Ignatius, as a Jesuit school, fosters respect for each individual member of the SI community and promotes the well-being, health, and safety of all students, faculty, parents, and alumni. The faculty and administration of St. Ignatius College Preparatory are committed to creating an alcohol and drug-free environment at all school activities.
The Assessment/Education Program is designed to educate students and parents about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and to provide information about and assistance for students having difficulty with substance use and abuse.
To that end, any student in violation of the school’s policy who is required to undergo an assessment/education by the in-house SI Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATD) Counselor will adhere to the following procedures:
If involvement in the process by the student is open and appropriate, in most cases, no further assessment/education or treatment will be required. However, if the in-house ATD Counselor determines that the student is in need of further counseling, the in-house ATD Counselor will continue treatment and/or refer the student to an off-campus agency.
