The student activities are a vital component of the curriculum at St. Ignatius. As such, all freshmen are required to engage in at least one extracurricular activity. The activities are designed to promote the physical and social development of the student, to provide opportunities for leadership, to provide avenues to serve the school and community, and to develop interests and talents that are normally untapped in classroom activity. The school has committed an unusual amount of resources and funds to student activities and encourages each student to involve himself or herself fully throughout his or her high school career. Student clubs and special interest groups play a key role in these endeavors.
