| Statement of Purpose: | A CLC is a small group of students with a faculty member who gather at least once every other week, to support one another in living a Christian lifestyle. The purpose of the group gathering is for members to form a Community of trust and support, to pray, to share faith, to socialize, and to minister to and with one another using the Spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola as a model. The focus of the CLC is of the development of the inner self within the community. The goal of each CLC is Mission, which can take the form of mindfully doing one's ordinary duties as a student, outreach or service by the group to those in need, or sharing in bigger projects with the CLC organization or school community. |
|
| Planned Activities: | Group meetings consist of a time for checking in about how life is going; a topic or activity for the day; plans for the future events; and prayer. There is a CLC Council which consists of one representative from each CLC. This group meets to share ideas and to collaborate on common projects. CLCs at SI sponsor the Food and Toy Drive and the Christmas Dance, which is a benefit for the Drive. | |
| Meeting Days / Times: | Groups meet at least every other week, some at lunchtime and some after school. | |
| Requirements for Membership: | There are no requirements for membership. CLCs at SI take many forms. Some groups gather around common interests or concerns, others are rather random groups of individuals who want to meet others and grow together. | |
| How to Join: | Students can sign up for a CLC during the Activities Rush in the beginning of the year or contact Mary Abinante (faculty moderator) or Michelle Potthoff (CLC Council Chair) at the Christian Service Office. | |
