On-Campus Charity Drives
The Steps to Organize
a Charity Drive at SI!!!!!
SI is very committed to being a partner and resource within the local, national and international neighborhood. Often students, clubs, teams or classes are empowered to organize an on-campus charity drive (to collect resources such as clothing, toiletries, books). These drives provide an awesome educational opportunity to learn about communities beyond SI as well as a great way for students to practice their own charity actions.
SI community members are invited to imagine and create their own proposals for On-Campus Charity Drives. Because our calendar of activities is so full at SI, we request that any plan or proposal for an On-Campus Charity Drives be submitted in advance for prior approval to make sure that our community is not overloaded with events.
Students/Teachers/Coaches/Moderators--interested in organizing a Charity Drive should complete a Organize! Drive! form (which can be download word document here). This form should be filled out and emailed/delivered to Ms. Girard as soon as possible. The earlier the better--to ensure that your drive can happen. Ms. Girard will take your proposal to our SI Social Justice Team--a group of faculty/staff who manage service/social justice efforts on campus--for approval.
Proposals will be considered as received. Proposals are not approved until the committee reviews the plan, paying close attention to the schools activity calendar and the goals of the Charity Drive. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask Ms. Girard. She is open and excited to help facilitate meaningful and successful Charity Drives on Campus!
