November 26 -December 12 with the Christmas Store on Saturday, December 15

Our Christmas Drive was an incredible success this year!

  • Our community collected a total of 260 completed boxes yesterday. It was very noticeable how each class took such care of their food box gift. Last year, we only received 220 completed boxes so you can see we did a fantastic job!
  • As well, we were able to raise $6500 from classroom and Freedom Pay donations which means, on average, each person donated about $4.00 towards the purchase of Christmas toys. So wonderful!
  • Our Volunteers were amazing! We had 20 box delivery volunteers, 25 student shoppers, 75 classroom elves, 30 volunteers to help collect and count our donations, and 40 volunteers who helped finalize the boxes in the commons. On Saturday, we anticipate about 50 student volunteers to assist at our Store. Thanks also goes out to the Boys and Girls Basketball teams for their energy and strength in finishing up and moving those heavy food boxes.
  • Thank you also to the INNOVATIVE TEACHERS who motivated and encouraged student participation. Without YOU much of the drive could not happen!
  • Finally, let’s not forget our Christmas Dance which raised $10,000. Another great success which we all can be so very proud of this year.

All the money that we have raised will go towards the Christmas Store which will be held this Saturday, December 15th. About $8000.00 has gone to purchase toys and gifts for the store. Another $8500.00 will be used to purchase grocery store gift cards so that each family can buy a turkey or ham for their holiday meal.

WE are so thrilled that we can do all this for the families in San Francisco that need a little extra help! Just this week we received a lovely email from Sister Anne who is one of our partners from St Dominic’s. She said: “I appreciate so much all you, the faculty, students and parents do to make this day so helpful to those in need. We are the lucky ones to be a part of the day when parents can actually pick out things for their family. Most people are so grateful!”

Thank you SI for all your efforts! Congratulations on an amazing Annual Christmas Drive! We look forward to next year!

$$ Donations for Toys

are collected at SI to purchase toys to stock our Christmas Store.

Each year we aim to raise $5 per student or approximately $7000 for our Store.

Food boxes

are prepared through second period classes, and all students are encouraged to participate by bringing an item or two.

Individual teachers or families have also sponsored a family by providing a box.

All proceeds from the Christmas Dance benefit the Food and Toy Drive,

making a direct connection between our own celebration and serving others.

Family Store

on a specified day parents are invited to shop for a toy for each of their children at the store at St. Dominic's.  Parents are accompanied by SI students and then driven home by Father's Club volunteers.

For information on the type of toys we need donated, please click here.

Each participating family receives a box containing the makings of a holiday feast as well as some pantry staples, fresh produce, and a gift certificate for a turkey.

How to Participate!!!!!!

1.) Help fill your classroom's food boxes and encourage others to do so!

2.) Donate money when people come to your classroom!

3.) Volunteer to help deliver food, shop for toys, set up or staff the Family Store
