Help from Parents for Sophomore Visits to St. Anthony
Each section of sophomore Religious Studies will take one day of school to travel by school bus to St. Anthony Foundation at Golden Gate Avenue and Jones. They will spend the morning learning about the programs available to the homeless and poor in the city of San Francisco and then eat lunch in the Dining Room with the many who come for a hot meal. A teacher, plus 3-4 parents, accompany the students to the different facilities in the Tenderloin district and then join the line for lunch.
We need parents with us at St. Anthony from 9 until noon, though we encourage you to stay for lunch until 1pm. You join in the experience by participating in service and spending time with those who attend lunch at St Anthony. You may also travel with us from SI at 8:30 and stay with us through lunch until we leave St. Anthony's by 2 PM. If you can come for all or part of the days listed below, please email Ms Jenny Girard She will contact you and confirm your participation.

The Day's General Schedule
Comfortable Dress Please: It is required that all volunteers wear CLOSED TOED shoes and dress in layers for warm inside weather and cool outside weather. Jeans are appropriate and recommended. Please bring limited belongings with you during the day.
Cancelation: If you know in advance that you are unable to make the service day, please contact your teacher as soon as possible. If you are unexpectedly needing to be absent, please call Ms. Jenny Girard at 415/731-7500 x299 and leave a message. Thank you!
