Beginning on Friday Sept 9th, the girls team entered the Wawona Peachtree Classic in Fresno for the second straight year.  The only difference this year was the tournament was bumped up to 80 teams from all over the state of California.  It is by far the biggest high school tennis tournament in the nation.

On the first day, the team played 3 matches, 2 of which were against teams from Southern California.  The girls ended up the day with a 2-1 record as their only lost was well fought and a close one.  The girls team was then placed in Division I Group 3 for all of Saturday's match.  The team played 3 matches, 2 of which were against teams from Central California.  After playing them, the team went 1-1 with the final match against an undefeated team from Northern California.  In dramatic fashion, the SI's team defeated them to win the overall championship for Division I Group 3.  All 14 members of the team were an integral part of the teams success.  It was a great team effort and experience.

Congratulations to each and every member of the 2005 SI Girls' Varsity team!!
