After almost 14 years, the courts at Saint Ignatius are getting resurfaced. Normally courts are suppose to get resurfaced every 4-6 years. But the only reason why the courts have lasted this long was due to the hard and meticulous work put in by Brother Art Lee, S.J. Over the years, among many things he has done, he has got on his hands and knees to clean the courts, repaired the windscreens using plastic ties, hosed and swept the courts, and the list goes on. Asked how he felt about the new courts, he sounded excited and enthusiastic.
The courts were resurfaced to represent Saint Ignatius by using the school colors - blue for the playing area and red for the outside boundaries. In addition, the windscreens were replaced and a new shed was added for additional storage especially for the ball machines and baskets.
Special thanks to Brother Art Lee, S.J., the Saint Ignatius grounds and maintenance crew and the Athletic Department. Come by and see the new courts along with some tennis matches.
Here are some pictures of the process.
