Coaching

Following college career, Coach McCarthy returned to SI assisting with the boys program for the first year but focusing more on the girls programs who won two GPSL league championships in 1995 and 1996. In 1997, Coach McCarthy became Head Coach of the Girls program and led the team to another GPSL league championship in 1998. Ever since, the program has continued to improve culminating in 2005 with the schools first ever WCAL Championship in both the Varsity and JV divisions, 4th place CCS finish, 9 school records and 5 All-American Swims. In Coach McCarthy's 13 years, he has been fortunate to have 15 All-American swims with two Automatic cuts in the 2005 200 Free Relay, 22nd in USA for Private Schools and last years 200 Medley Relay.

Playing/Personnel

A graduate of St. Ignatius College Preparatory, Coach McCarthy swam for the Wildcats from 1987-90, serving as a team captain in his final year. Coach McCarthy attended and swam for San Francisco State University, serving as team captain and earning swimmer of the year honors in 1994. He graduated from SFSU with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and currently designs/manages construction projects for the City of San Francisco, Airport Commission.

Coaching
Joins St. Ignatius for her first year coaching where she will be assisting with the JV team.  While in college at Duke University, Amy coached age group and senior club USS swimmers for the New Wave Swim Team in North Carolina. Also coached Lick-Wilmerding in San Francisco in 2001. In her first year, Coach Jones helped lead the team to the JV teams second WCAL Championship in a row.  

Playing/Personnel

A graduate of Lick-Wilmerding, Coach Jones swam all four years on Varsity winning various team awards. Attended Duke University where she spent time on the water polo team. She currently works in the Counseling Department at SI working with the sophomore class.
