SI Swims for Another

Wildcats raise Big $$$$

Herbst Natatorium - The SI Wildcats women's swim team opened the 2005 swim season in record-breaking style.

The SI swim team swam for someone else's behalf this past Friday. Frosh Zea Moscone's little brother, Owen, has been hospitalized with cancer and recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor.

In an effort to bring attention to the issue and to show Owen he has fans in the pool, the team swam 50x100's.  Also joining the swim was future wildcat, Dillon Moscone (see him pictured in the center).

All told over $20k was raised and will be sent to a local group that supports kids with fun activities.

At the end, the Canonica's were gracious enough to bring the girls pizza & drinks. The surgery went well and we are hoping for Owen's speedy return back to the pool.
