Meet Results
Herbst Natatorium – The SI Wildcats women's swim team continued their record breaking in grand style with an easy 131-38 win over Carondelet. All told, 3 new school and 2 pool records fell at just the second meet of the season.
Frosh Ruthie Dimagmaliw lowered the 200 IM school record with a time of 2:16.16, just 0.01 seconds under the time posted last weekend by Soph MacKenzie Campbell. Ruthie also swam the second fastest 100 Back in school history with a 1:00.71. Next to set a new school record was Frosh Mallory Ryan who shattered the 8 year old 500 Free record (Megan Montague ’98) with a near personnel best 5:17.43. Mallory and MacKenzie were the first teammates to swim sub 2:00 200 Free with times of 1:58.81 and 1:59.21, respectively.
The 200 & 400 Free relays teams continued to amaze. The 200 Free Relay with Senior Francesca Lollini, Frosh Tessa Peirona, Soph Darcie Campbell and MacKenzie Campbell set new school and pool records with a time of 1:40.63, well under All-American Consideration. The 400 Free Relay (Mallory Ryan, Francesca Lollini, Darcie Campbell and MacKenzie Campbell) cut more than 1 second off the pool record and finished with the 2nd best Wildcat time of 3:41.00.
New CCS cuts were attained by several Wildcats. Soph Kandis Canonica – 200 IM Frosh Tessa Peirona – 100 Fly Frosh Lyndsie Dellaria – 100 Free
The Wildcats begins the WCAL regular dual meet season next Thursday, March 10, versus Notre Dame – Belmont. The meet will be held at Serra High School and start time is 3:00pm . |
